JONAH TAKES THE BLUE RIBBON!
HUNTSVILLE, AL - Jonah Smythe, 7, won the RA Racer first grade division Wednesday night. While official times were not posted, Jonah was a commanding winner in his heat and his times ultimately were good enough for him to climb the podium when the ribbons were awarded. This being his first entry into the competitive world of high stakes RA Racing Jonah was very surprised when he first was awarded Runner Up for "Best Looking Car" amongst first graders and then handed the prestigious Blue ribbon prize for fastest time. Today Jonah reflected on the experience, "I really liked winning and it was my first time in RAs to win". He was, however, humbled in the Overall category and did not finish in the top three amongst all grades thereby setting a lofty goal for himself for next year. In addition to his ribbon he was awarded a race car camera - sure to be a treasure in the years to come.
Sam Smythe, competing as well by proxy in the Others category reserved for fathers, cheered his brother's win.
In unrelated news, the Smythe Family awaits a visit from the tooth fairy this evening as Jonah finally dislodged a stubborn, loose front tooth - the result of a basketball to the face.
